About NetSAP-Richmond The Network of South Asian Professionals (NetSAP/NetIP) is a North American organizaton
of professionals with common interest in the Indian subcontinent. NetSAP is open to professionals who are at least
21 years of age, regardless of race, religion, gender, geographical location or personal preferences. The national
organization, NetIP-North America, was officially established in March 1995 at the third annual NetIP conference
in Dallas, Texas. The NetSAP-Richmond chapter was founded in April 1999 when several people decided to form an
organization to help young South Asian professionals network, grow and contribute to their community. In addition,
the founders wanted to provide opportunities to network with other professional, cultural, civic, and charity groups
in the Richmond metropolitan area and across the nation. The founding members are Nirav Desai, Navita Gupta, Mina Handa, Lucy Joseph, and Bhavin Patel. As it grows, NetSAP-Richmond
will deliver more benefits to its members including:
- Membership privileges of NetIP North America
- Access to professional resources and seminars
- Opportunities to participate in regional cultural and community service
events
- Forums for learning about South Asian culture and politics
- Discounts on events held by other organizations and NetIP/NetSAP chapters

NetSAP-Richmond aims to cultivate professional development,
to contribute to the community, and to promote cultural and political awareness. To fulfill our mission we have
the following goals:
- To provide a forum for young professionals to meet, to network,
and to learn from each other; and to foster professional growth.
- To sponsor and participate in local cultural and community
service events - giving professionals an opportunity to promote the South Asian culture and give back to their
communities.
- To adhere to the goals of the umbrella organization NetIP-North
America.
- To provide another social outlet for young professionals to
make new friendships.
